The New York State Department of Health Cancer Services Program (CSP) oversees a statewide, comprehensive cancer screening program providing breast, cervical and colorectal cancer screening for eligible women and men.
The CSP funds community-based partnerships to coordinate screening services in every county and borough in New York State.
Each year, the partnerships screen approximately 60,000 women for breast and cervical cancer and 10,000 men and women for colorectal cancer.
As a result of early detection and improved treatments, over 10 million people in the United States have survived cancer. Accordingly, there is a charge for public health to provide supportive services to survivors and their families.
